Institute for AI Industry Research (AIR), Tsinghua University, founded by world-class multi-media and AI scientist and entrepreneur Dr. Ya-Qin Zhang, is an applied research institute geared towards industrialization of AI technology in the 4th Industrial Revolution. Our mission is to apply AI to empower industrial and social advancement. By closing the gap of technology transfer between academia and industry, AIR tackles key technology bottlenecks, cultivates AI industrial leaders, and pushes the envelope of industry development.
Utilizing 5G, IoT, big data, deep learning, cloud computing and other cutting-edge technologies, and centering around such use cases as smart office, smart home, smart city, and industrial IoT, scholars at AIR will work on building a cloud-to-end smart operating system and platform architecture based on self-sensing, self-learning, self-adaption, and decision-making, explore how to use a human-device-service IoT information platform to seamlessly connect users, services and the industry. Conducting innovative theoretical research and tackling key AI technology bottlenecks, AIR aims to create a next-generation AIoT industry ecosystem and decision-making mechanism to empower the industry digitalization and upgrade and incubate new smart industries.
Job responsibilities:
In areas of smart office, smart home, smart city, industrial IoT, etc., carry out research in smart sensing, end machine learning/deep learning/reinforcement learning, model compression and auto-generation, system and cyber security, privacy protection, etc., and support AIR team in delivering high-quality research results.
Qualifications and requirements:
Candidates should be currently enrolled in a bachelor's/master's/doctor's program in a well-known university, majoring in computer science, electronic information, autonomation, applied mathematics, pattern recognition and intelligent systems, artificial intelligence or other related majors;
Once hired, interns are expected to work for at least three months, and no less than three days per week;
Candidates should be self-driven and passionate about scientific research, have good communication and coding skills, and like to solve practical problems;
Candidates with the following experience and abilities will be preferred:
Skilled at one or more mainstream programming framework for deep learning (Caffe, TensorFlow, PyTorch, PaddlePaddle), and familiar with their underlying architecture and implementation mechanisms;
A good understanding of NLP/ML/DL models and algorithms (e.g. GBDT/MLP/CNN/RNN/LSTM/Transformer), and use reinforcement learning algorithms frequently;
Experience of working on projects or research in mobile and embedded systems, distributed systems, edge intelligence, low-power hardware and systems.
