Dr. Ye Ouyang is the Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President at AsiaInfo Technologies (HKG: 1675), a leading telecom software company. He oversees the company’s technology strategy and global R&D. Before joining AsiaInfo, Dr. Ouyang was a Verizon Fellow and Senior Manager at Verizon. He specializes in networks, AI, and data science commercialization. In 2022, he was named an IEEE Fellow for his leadership in network intelligence.
Dr. Ouyang has received numerous awards, including the 2023 Forbes 100 Most Influential Chinese Selection Award, the 2017 Asian American Engineer of the Year (AAEOY), the 2021 Top 100 Diverse Leaders in Tech by the US National Diversity Council, and the 2019 TMForum Future Digital Leader Award. He has also received the 2023 Science and Technology Award First Prize from the China Association of Automation (CAA), the 2022 and 2023 Science and Technology Award First Prize from the China Computer Federation (CCF), the 2021 Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award from the Chinese Association for AI (CAAI), the 2021 China Artificial Intelligence Tech Leader Award, and the 2020 China Artificial Intelligence Industry Annual Leader Award. Additionally, he has been honored with the 2017 IEEE International Conference on Big Data (IEEE BigData) Best Paper Award, the 2017 US Telecom Innovation Awards by Fierce, the 2017 Most Innovative Telco Big Data Analytics Platform Award by Telco Data Analytics USA, the 2016 US Telecom Innovation Award by Fierce, the 2015 Chair Award for "Wireless Communications & Interdisciplinary Perspective" Contribution by IEEE WTS.
Dr. Ouyang holds leadership roles in various global standards bodies and academic institutions, including IEEE, ETSI, and Tsinghua University. He has authored over 60 papers, 160 patents, and 13 books. Dr. Ouyang holds a Ph.D. from Stevens Institute of Technology, and degrees from Southeast University, Tufts University, and Columbia University.
